Fabrice Muamba, whose heart stopped for more than an hour after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a televised FA Cup match, says first aid should become a compulsory part of the school syllabus.
“You need to make sure everyone in the country is aware of first aid and knows how to do it,” says the former Bolton Wanderers player, who takes part in the Christmas Day edition of Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking at a St John Ambulance event, he tells Mandrake: “It should become second nature to everybody.”

Still a catwalk queen at the age of 42, Naomi Campbell must, however, take a break from the runway. The supermodel is using crutches after undergoing knee surgery.
